Heading for home

There are two choices. Spend the day packing up and then a quick belt along the autoroute back to Le Havre, or pack up a little earlier and then take the scenic route along the coast.

The scenic route is 77 miles:

Leave Cormolain on the D31, go left onto the D9 and follow it almost as far as Caen.

After the new roundabout by St Manvieu-Norrey (with the Aldi by it), turn left onto the D147a and then right onto the D170.

Follow this road under a railway bridge and then turn right onto the slip road for the N13 .

Follow the Péripherique Nord through Caen. The road goes over the river (there's a speed camera just before the bridge. It's facing you but be careful, the locals all slow down suddenly and then accelerate as soon as they're past it).

As you come off the bridge, take the exit which sweeps down to river level. Turn right onto the D513.

Just before Cabourg take the D400 which bypasses Cabourg and Dives-sur-Mer.

Then it becomes the D513 again, which you follow to Houlgate, Villers-sur-Mer and into Deauville.

Keep on the D513 through Deauville, Trouville-sur-Mer and Villerville and all the way into Honfleur.

It may be possible to stop in Honfleur, but it's a real tourist trap and as it's a Sunday, there may be no room to park.

On the other side of Honfleur, pick up the autoroute over the Pont-de-Normandie, remembering to keep to the extreme right at the toll booths and slip through the motorcycle lane that bypasses the barriers.

Then just follow the signs into Le Havre and the car ferry.

Here's the route on TomTom. (right-click, then click on "save as" and save it to your TomTom.) Here's the Garmin file too.
