Graignes church – 182 US Paras (mostly from 3 Batt, 507 PIR, 82 AB & 1 Batt, 501 PIR, 101 AB) gathered in Graignes after missing their Drop Zones on D-Day. They defended the village until 11th June when the final assault was conducted by elements of 17th SS Panzer Grenadier Div. The Germans murdered nine wounded Paras and a number of villagers including two priests. The village was almost totally destroyed in reprisals.
Iron Mike Memorial – a replica of the statue standing in the US Army Infantry School at Fort Benning.
Ste Mere Eglise – Pvt John Steele spent most of D-Day hanging by his parachute from the church steeple. The town was liberated by 505 PIR, 82 AB.

La Cambe German Cemetery – 21,222 burials, SS Obersturmfuhrer Michael Wittman, 47.3.121F, Opening hours: 08:00 until 19:00.
